How do I set up a trading account?

How much money do I need to deposit to open an account?
There is no minimum deposit to open an account.

Can anyone trade futures and options?
Futures trading is not appropriate for everyone.  As long as the individual meets the requirements of the industry (prove financial suitability) they can open an account .

Can the money in my margin account gain interest?
Generally speaking, no. Ask us for further details.

How are the tax consequences different for hedge and speculative accounts?
When a trade is placed in a hedge account, the gains or losses are recognized as ordinary income or expense; you will be paying social security tax and income tax. Speculative transactions are recognized as capital gains or capital losses. You should consult with your tax advisor for further details.
